
Pain Management Course – Trusted Training for Emergency Care in a wide range of locations across NSW and ACT
Be ready to help others in pain with our nationally recognised Pain Management Course, now available in Yass, Cootamundra, Canberra, and across the Riverina region. This course is ideal for emergency workers, first responders, and volunteers who need to provide pain relief during medical emergencies.
In this hands-on course, you'll learn how to safely give pain-relieving medication like methoxyflurane to someone who is injured. You’ll also learn how to monitor a person’s condition, talk with them calmly, and check for any bad reactions. The course follows national safety standards and is commonly used by people working in fire and rescue, emergency services, and remote response teams.

An individual undertaking this course with Allens Training Pty Ltd will need to demonstrate the following to be eligible for entry:
Hold the pre-requisite unit HLTAD011 Provide First Aid
Physical capability to be able to meet the demands of the practical demonstration skills
Online study options: students must have access to a computer, smartphone, tablet or other electronic devices with access to the internet to complete the online studies.

Individuals undertaking this course will be expected to complete both written and practical assessment tasks.

Practical scenarios:
Two (2) pain management and handover to paramedics scenarios (Options include: Aspirin, Paracetamol, Ibuprofen, Methoxyflurane or Entonox)
Documentation:
Drug register log
First aid incident report form
Theory assessment – A written assessment consisting of multiple-choice and short answer questions. The student must complete all assessment questions.
